Tracey, the GF diet is a pain in the butt! LOL!
Seriously, if you do want to try the GF diet I suggest searching the internet for information. It's also good to talk to folks who are on the diet
I am on this diet to control my celiac disease. Experts warn that this diet, without issues related to gluten , is NOT a healthy diet. It's NOT a good way to control weight. Personally, I've gained 30+ lbs on the gluten free diet. Some of the weight gain is from being able to digest actual calories. Another source of calories would be higher calorie, less filling, less fiber and less nutrition in GF foods. On top of all that, GF foods are phenomenally expensive!!! I know I can just do the rice, meat and veggie thing forever and ever but that gets real dull fast! Eating out is also a serious PITA. I,personally, can only eat at two restaurants without getting sick.

You can find GF foods in the specialty, "health" section in most major grocery stores. Tiger Mart, Central Market and online (Kinninick sp?) are pretty good for GF foods. They have long, detailed on line lists of manufacturers of mainstream foods that are GF. Walmart has required all manufacturers to label GF foods. These lists do change and grow.
